Polish Problems

Man, getting into Nail Polish was a MISTAKE. There are SO MANY brands and SO MANY colours and I have a problem.

If I have one item from a collection, I want ALL THE ITEMS. There's a reason I have 49 bottles of Gin and it's not because I run a Gin Shop.

So when it comes to polish, once I get something from a series I lose my mind and need them all. I'm struggling with that when it comes to Revlon - I've got MOST of the Colorstay collection and MOST of the Parfumerie collection, and it's turning me around in circles that because of buying the house I can't just swamp ebay auctions and get them all.

This is another reason I haven't really got too many indie polishes - I feel like I came late to the game and there are too many discontinued polishes that I wouldn't be able to get. Add to that the limited edition ones and I would go mad.

I think I have a problem. Damn my completist nature!

Well, we're 3 weeks into January and cold weather be damned, my nails have a free edge again! My cuticles are shot to shit but I have free edge!

My friend Christy from Slaquer Lacquer sent me a bottle of Rejuvacote so that I can try to grow the long nails of my dreams.

Nudez with Rejuvacote and flaky dry winter cuticles

I'm a little concerned when I have only just started using Rejuvacote when I read a blog like this one where the poor lass's nails went pink!!

No sign of that yet with mine (the yellow discolouration is due to Sinful Colors Savage a few months ago) but you'd better believe I'm looking for it.

Speaking of Slaquer Lacquer, I have been blessed with a delivery of Lady of the Laken and here's a crappy pic of my nubby nails wearing it on four nails with an accent of Revlon Gel Envy 350 Showtime.

This gorgeous jelly blue with multi-sized multi-coloured glitter was created especially for my friend Laken, but anyone can purchase her and you should because she's amazing, just like my girl!

So, now I've started buying Slaquer I'd better get some decent money so I can buy them all. Bloody Pokemon type polish habit.

One polish I have been after forever however, is Essie Belugaria, and thanks to my amazing Secret Santa I now have it in my grubby little hands. Over a coat of black and applying slowly with way more polish than you think you need!
(also don't shake it, the glitter sticks to the sides, I learned that the hard way)

Sorry it was so long since the last update, I've got plenty to post now, I promise!

Who can save me from myself?

Well, after 5 days of having no nails, what do I have to tell you?

THIS WAS A STUPID EXPERIMENT AND MY FINGERS HUUUUUUURRRRRTTT.

I know, I could've seen it coming - my nails haven't been this nubby since... the 4th of January, 2014 apparently. God I'm predictable, check it out:
PoundLand Metallic Black with Holo Glitter

Hahahahah - I had no idea it was a year ago. Look at that - the orange staining around the pointer finger and thumb cuticle, I gave 0 fucks.

Well, last night I took off the Aliquid, and replaced it with something altogether not Goth, not me, and TBQH I'm not too happy with it, but there you go. It's only Nail Polish, it's temporary, LIFE is temporary.

So I went with this:
Minnie Mouse Blue, Revlon 440 Siren, topped with Color Club Take The Stage

Ignoring the colours (which I hate), this is so painful! Every key I type, the bare skin just past the nails where the nails used to be is on FIRE! It aches and reminds me of how stupid I was each time I try to open a DVD case, or open some mints or pick my nose!

I'm going to leave you with a picture of Gamora, she's throwing a sulk because I told her off for eating my Mortgage paperwork.
So she sat on it.

Welcome to 2015!

That's a weird title. I'm not sure whether I'm welcoming you to 2015, or welcoming 2015 in. I guess it's a bit of both!

Not much of a post today, I'm wrestling with a cold demon that's been hanging around for the last week. I just wanted to show you all that I cut off my nails.

I want to see how long it takes to grow them, so that next time I break one, I won't be too sad, and I'll remember that there's plenty time for them to all go long again!

So it's farewell to these babies, that I had in 2014:

And hello to these baby nubbins!
And, as they are so short I've taken the opportunity to use one of my most eye-searing polishes, Aliquid Lacquer, Fairest One of All.

I have found another level of respect for anyone with short nails - it was so difficult not to just smear this all over my fingers like I did when I was 15, and let the shower take off the excess! You've got a whole new edge to be careful on, rather than going over the free edge, you've got to stop!

Hopefully the Rejuvacote that's winging its way across the Atlantic gets here before I get too much free edge, and I can see how long I can get these babies to go!
